“Celebrate Good Times, Come On.”
"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." - Psalm 118:24
Birthdays remind us that life itself is a gift from God. Each year we celebrate is not just another candle on a cake, but another testimony of God's faithfulness. Before we ever took a breath, God knew us, formed us, and placed purpose within us (Psalm 139: 13-16).
This month as we celebrate everyone's birthday together, we're acknowledging something deeper than age - we're celebrating God's handiwork. No one here is an accident. Every life represents a story God is writing, shaped by grace, sustained by mercy, and guided by his love.
Birthdays also invite us to pause and give thanks. We thank God for the past - His protection, provision, and patient. We thank Him for the preset - His Presence with us today. And we trust Him with the future - believing that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion" (Philippians 1:6).
As followers of Christ, celebrating life is an act of worship. We rejoice not just because someone is born, but because through Christ we are given a new identity, a clean slate, a new direction, a renewed mind, and a fresh mission. Each birthday becomes a reminder that our days matter and are meant to be lived for God's glory.

NEW YEAR, NEW BEGINNINGS
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
A new year often feels like a blank page—full of hope, expectations, and sometimes uncertainty. We look back at what was unfinished, what failed, and what hurt. Yet the gospel reminds us that our truest new beginning is not found on a calendar but in Christ. God specializes in fresh starts. He brought light out of darkness, life out of death, and hope out of despair. The same God who began a good work in you has not abandoned it. In Christ, you are not defined by last year’s mistakes, losses, or disappointments.
You are defined by grace. New beginnings don’t mean everything changes overnight. Often, God renews us one step at a time—reshaping our hearts, realigning our priorities, and teaching us to trust Him more deeply. This year is not about striving harder, but about surrendering more fully. As you step into this new year, remember: God goes before you.
His mercies are new every morning, and His faithfulness does not expire with time. Whatever this year holds, you walk into it with a God who makes all things new.

December Fountain Newsletter
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
December brings a flurry of lights, shopping, gatherings, and traditions. It’s the season of giving—and receiving—gifts. But in the midst of wrapping paper and twinkling lights, we are reminded of the one gift that outshines them all: Jesus Christ.
Paul calls Him God’s “indescribable gift.” Why? Because no words can fully capture the magnitude of what Jesus' birth means. Through Him, we receive grace, salvation, peace, hope, and eternal life. He didn’t come wrapped in fine linens or born into luxury. Instead, He arrived humbly, laid in a manger, to meet us in our brokenness.
The beauty of Christmas isn't in what we give or get—it's in recognizing that the greatest gift has already been given. And unlike the presents under a tree, Jesus is a gift that keeps on giving, shaping our lives every single day.
As we celebrate this season, let’s slow down and reflect on what really matters. Let the miracle of Christ’s birth fill your heart with wonder and gratitude.

Summer is a season full of sunshine, growth, and rest. The days are longer, kids are out of school, and families often take vacations. But summer is not just a break from routine—it’s also an invitation from God to reflect, refresh, and renew our walk with Him.
1. A Time to Rest
Even Jesus took time to rest (Mark 6:31). Summer reminds us of the importance of Sabbath—of stepping back from the busyness to reconnect with God and loved ones. Use these warmer days to pause and be still in His presence. Carve out a quiet moment each day this summer to read Scripture, pray, or just sit in God’s creation.
2. A Time to Grow
Just as flowers and crops thrive in the summer sun, God wants us to grow in Him. Spend time watering your spiritual life—through worship, devotion, fellowship, and service. How are you allowing the “Son” to shine on you so you can grow spiritually?
3. A Time to Shine
Matthew 5:14 says, “You are the light of the world.” With longer days and more chances to be outside, summer gives us opportunities to be a light in our communities—through acts of kindness, sharing the Gospel, or simply living joyfully. Organize a summer outreach event or do one kind act a week. Seasons change, but God’s love remains. As we embrace the warmth of summer, let’s also embrace the warmth of His Spirit, letting it refresh our souls and inspire our steps.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the season of summer. Help us find rest in You, grow in Your Word, and shine Your light wherever we go. Lord, we pray for “Encounters” with you during this season. May this be a season of renewal, reflection, and rejoicing in Your faithfulness. Amen.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
The start of a new school year is here. This new moment will bring excitement, fresh notebooks, new friendships—but also nerves, change, and uncertainty. Whether you're heading to a new grade, a new school, or returning to a familiar place, remember this: God is going with you.
When Joshua took leadership after Moses, he was about to lead Israel into unfamiliar territory. He had doubts, fears, and big shoes to fill. But God told him, “Be strong and courageous... I will be with you wherever you go.” That same promise is yours today. God doesn’t stay behind when you walk into a classroom. He walks in with you. When you feel anxious before a test, uncertain about friendships, or overwhelmed by your schedule, you are not alone. God goes before you, stands beside you, and walks behind you.
This school year, don’t rely only on your own strength or ability. Lean on God every day. Start your mornings with prayer, carry His Word in your heart, and ask for His help often. Your faith can shine through your words, your kindness, and your courage.

Give me a break!
Someone once told me that if you’re busy, you’re blessed. I couldn’t disagree more. Too many times we allow busyness to steal the very blessing that our Lord has set before us. We go, go and go all the time with very little time to rest our bodies and our minds. And we wonder what’s wrong? We wonder why things in life just don’t seem to be as smooth as we would like for them to be. If you ask me (lets pretend you did), I would say that busyness looks like evil. Not with horns, a long tail or a large pitch fork, but with a covered calendar and large list that need to be completed. Slow down and take a break. Find something that gives you joy. Let your mind, body and soul rest. We are in a marathon, not a sprint.
Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light Matthew 11:28–30

Together Everyone Achieves More.
In the early 90’s this was the saying on our football practice tee shirts at Winston County High School. We would wear them on Thursday’s practice and under our shoulder pads on Friday nights. We were also told that if we would work together, not as thirty or so individuals but as one, we would be successful. That year we finished with a 1-10 record. That is one win, and ten losses. So, what was the problem? What did we do wrong? We had our shirts and we wore them with pride. The truth is, we were never really a team. There were too many players with their own agendas as their focus.
You know, church can be the same way. When a group of people get together for a common purpose, to honor and glorify our King, great things can happen. But the same is also true if a church acts like our football team acted. If a few want to do it their way, we will fail. Is what you're telling people helping to build up the church? Or is it tearing it down? Do you have your own agenda? Or the agenda of our King? My prayer is that we are focused on The King and His agenda, and that we as a body bond together as one.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him - a threefold cord in not quickly broken.
